The project was inspired by the house of one in Berlin, a building which houses 3 different faiths in one building. We were asked to create 3 spaces; one for Christians, one for Muslims and a third for the Humanists or "open faith" groups (due to norways low jewish population).
Combining faith groups witihn a complex is a paradoxical task. If the faiths are too attatched to each other they loose their identity, on the other hand if they are too detached, the gesture of respect, which is at the heart of the task is also lost. As a result each faith group is given their own special entrance.
The building is wrapped in a loggia, which serves as a walkway for all the faith groups
