Students’ projects from the Guest Studio Fall 2020 at AHO The Oslo
School of Architecture
In their projects, the students were investigating the possible
architecture of unplanned and unprogrammed, transient public spaces
of the baraha, by designing contemporary barastis, based on their
research of public life in Muharraq. The new structures were temporary
or not, engaging the structural logic, informal life and activities of the
city, in-between the monuments of Pearling Path and on the sea-shore.
The aim was to create a series of punctual interventions along the
Path, to express their seasonal, transient character, in order to trigger
the new understanding of public spaces in the city.
